Cross Keys Homes builds its 400th new home

January 8, 2010

PETERBOROUGH’S largest housing association has celebrated the completion of its 400th new home since it began its build programme in January 2007.

The properties provided by Cross Keys Homes are a mixture of shared ownership and rented family houses, flats, bungalows and maisonettes located in the city and surrounding areas.

New tenants, Mr and Mrs Hobbs, were the lucky couple to move into the 400th new home at Hampton Vale. Mr Hobbs said: “We are delighted with our brand new home. It has given us stability and it’s somewhere we are really going to enjoy living in.”

Cross Keys Homes’ latest development at Hampton Vale consists of one, two, three and four bedroom homes available for shared ownership and rent.

Cross Keys Homes’ chief executive, Mick Leggett said: “We, at Cross Keys Homes, are determined to provide even more new affordable rented homes in and around our city and we have backed this by committing £32m for this year alone.”

He added: “Cross Keys Homes will continue to provide much needed new homes across the city to meet the demand of the ever growing housing waiting list.”

Councillor Marco Cereste, leader of Peterborough City Council, said: "Cross Keys Homes do an excellent job of providing much needed affordable homes and creating better places to live for the residents of Peterborough. Reaching the milestone of completing 400 new homes is a great achievement and the council is delighted to support this hard work."
