Affordable homes in Deeping St James
May 12, 2010
THIRTEEN families are set to benefit from new affordable homes in Deeping St James.
Cross Keys Homes, in partnership with Circle Anglia, has invested £1.4 million into the scheme on Spalding Road. The building works began on the nine two bedroom and four three bedroom homes in April and completion is expected Spring 2011.
The new homes are built to higher energy efficient standards reducing fuel consumption for the occupier by up to 25 per cent compared to a normal house. They will meet level three of the Code for Sustainable Homes which exceeds the current building regulations standards.
Cross Keys Homes’ chief executive, Mick Leggett, said: “In the current climate finding affordable accommodation is harder than ever and I am delighted that these 13 new highly energy efficient homes will help to ease the housing waiting list for the area.”
Baxter and King’s director, Darren Woods, said: “We are committed to our community homes’ projects which bring affordable housing to local people. We are also proud to use local tradesman who continually achieve the very high standards set.”
All the new homes will be available for affordable rent though South Kesteven’s housing options team.
