Peterborough in Bloom

December 4, 2009

GREEN-fingered staff and residents at a city sheltered scheme are celebrating winning an award in the Peterborough in Bloom competition.

Cross Keys Homes’ Rangefield sheltered scheme in Orton Brimbles scooped third place in the category of best senior citizen.

Charlotte Palmer from Peterborough City Council said: “The Peterborough in Bloom team would like to congratulate Cross Keys Homes’ Rangefield sheltered housing scheme on their award in this year’s garden competition.

“As ever the standard for the competition was high and Rangefield’s excellent effort in their category was very evident for the judges. We look forward to next year’s entries from Rangefield and all residents across Peterborough for the in Bloom Garden Competition.”

Cross Keys Homes’ Rangfield sheltered scheme manager, Cathy Ponor, said: “I am delighted the efforts of the Rangefield residents have been recognised in this competition. The residents spend much of their time working on the garden, it really is something for them to be proud of.”

Cross Keys Homes’ residents Ian Macfarlane (pictured) and George Bryant attended the award ceremony in November on behalf of the residents of Rangefield.
